Capacities and demands
The Blood Bank deals with whole blood and its components like packed cell, platelet, platelet rich plasma, fresh frozen plasma. The source of Blood Bank is through voluntary donation & replacement donation, by individual. The voluntary Blood Donation Camps are organized by various NGOs. The Blood Bank is also taking care of blood transfusion needs of 190 Thalassemic patients who are registered with us.
Constraints and remedies planned
Due to lack of manpower the platelet aphaeresis procedure is performed within 9AM- 4PM. Space constraint.

The aim of this blood bank is to achieve largest degree of quality and develop latest skills and adopt newer techniques to provide best quality blood transfusion services to needy ones in this region and set examples for other blood banks in

Details of fee charged
For Govt. hospital, no money is charged. For private hospitals & Nursing homes an amount of Rs. 850/- is charged as processing fee for each unit of whole blood/ packed red cells and Rs.400/- for platelet concentrate/ fresh frozen plasma .
Waiting time for various procedures and activities
Blood donation – walk in, subject to completion of formalities and pre-donation screening. Blood donation procedure takes 10-15mins of donor’s time only
Blood is issued after around 1-3 hours of receiving the sample and requisition.
For Single donor platelets – Plateletpheresis procedure performed between 9am- 4pm and time required is 6 hrs subject to medical fitness of the donor.
EQUIPMENT PROCURED DURING LAST TWO FINANCIAL YEAR
There has been no procurement of new equipment in last two years however under NACP-III NACO and Delhi States Aids Control Society has provided some equipment of routine use.
